  • The Agony and Ecstasy of Mike Daisey, This American Life and Steve Jobs – Apparently, not everyone was fooled by Mike Daisey's TAL show.
  • Mike Daisey’s ‘Agony and Ecstasy of Steve Jobs’ cancelled after reports of fabrications – Chicago Tribune – The radio program “This American Life” and WBEZ 91.5 FM said Friday that they have cancelled the live presentation of Mike Daisey’s “The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs” at The Chicago Theatre on April 7. The announcement cited "the revelation of numerous fabrications in Daisey’s story," which he has told at both at the Public Theater in New York and on "This American Life."
  • Retraction | This American Life – "We've discovered that one of our most popular episodes contained numerous fabrications. This week, we detail the errors in Mike Daisey's story about visiting Foxconn, which makes iPads and other products for Apple in China. Marketplace's China correspondent Rob Schmitz discovered the fabrications." You really need to listen to this show to hear how an actor is basing a hit show on lies — and trying to pass them off as journalism. This makes me angry.

Killed by greed, if you ask me.
  • Radio show on Apple’s Chinese workers is retracted – "The U.S. radio program "This American Life" has retracted an episode critical of working conditions at a Chinese factory that makes iPhones and iPads for Apple Inc, saying it had contained "numerous fabrications."" If a respected news media outlet can be fooled by embellished "journalism," how can WE know the truth?

  • Centrist Women Tell of Disenchantment With G.O.P. – "And in what appears to be an abrupt shift, some Republican-leaning women like Ms. Russell said they might switch sides and vote for Mr. Obama — if they turn out to vote at all." Read the whole story on the New York Times. But this particular quote pisses me off to no end. Are they suggesting that women would NOT vote at all just because they didn't like the Republican candidates? WTF? Hello? Ladies? Get your head out of your ass and VOTE for the person you think is the best candidate. It's the ONLY way you can have your say in the political process.
