Interesting Links, August 12, 2012

Here are links I found interesting on August 12, 2012:

  • Dramatic video: 71-year-old taken to the ground for questioning Paul Ryan – No, Mr. Ryan, Social Security and Medicare are NOT entitlement programs. The people getting funds are the people who paid into it their entire lives. Some of us — the self-employed — pay double. And how DARE you allow this man to be cuffed and disgraced by exercising his First Amendment Right of free speech? Is this the kind of treatment we want from our leaders? I don't think so.
  • The Arizona Republic introduces new subscription model – Prediction: AZCentral.com will soon learn that most people will not pay for content when they can get similar content for free.
  • Ohio Limits Early Voting Hours In Democratic Counties, Expands In Republican Counties – "Ohio has introduced a new tactic in their broader attempts to make it even harder for Democratic voters to get to the polls this year." WTF?
  • Mitt Romney Would Pay 0.82 Percent in Taxes Under Paul Ryan’s Plan – "Paul Ryan's plan is a path to prosperity for Mitt Romney." And that's what the government of the United States is becoming: a club of rich guys supported by rich guys making laws to keep rich guys rich or make them richer. Hello, America? Wake up and smell the corruption! You're electing people who don't give a crap about you and your middle class existence. Their trickle down economics will never trickle down to you and your unemployed friends, relatives, and neighbors.
