Jacqueline: I don't understand how the rest of the religious world puts up with Robertson's crap. He makes all religious people look stupid.

Oddly, after posting this, I saw comments on several blogs that insinuated that the only aid going to disaster areas was coming from church- or religious-based charities. Donating to Non-Believers Giving Aid is a good way to correct this misconception.

Great post! I was sickend by Pat Robertson as well, but then, he always blames the victims of every tragedy each time one occurs. He blamed the people of New Orleans after Katrina.

I did give money to the Red Cross by texting the word Haiti to 90999. This program charges 10$ to your phone bill and the money goes directly to the Haiti relief efforts. I then donated 50$ to the ASPCA which is working with several charities that are staging a relief effort on the border of the Dominican republic, waiting for the ok to enter the country and give relief to the thousands and thousands of animals that have been affected by the earthquake. I really like the idea of donating to a overtly non-religious charity and I plan to make a third contribution to them.
