Rick: Thanks for this. I signed up for MagCloud and did a quick test document. I'm interested in seeing the quality of the printout. It certainly is easy to do. I'll check in here again when the proof arrives. Actually, I'll probably blog about it.

Thanks for telling me about seeing my book at the Apple store. I just hope folks are buying it, too!

Maria,

Check out MagCloud.com for on-demand printing of brochures and magazines. Create your PDF and upload it to the service. MagCloud offers an InDesign template (I'm using the Photoshop template for layout). You can order a proof at no cost to check out the result. The result is a nicely bound glossy paged magazine.

I've been doing short runs of promotional materials of the technical products I sell and am pleased with the results. The cost is $0.20 per page plus the shipping cost of the bulk order. The only downside to the service is that there is an extra cost for express shipping. You can make your document public or private on Magcloud. If you make it public you can let people see it in the list of available magazines and the person can order a copy. MagCloud prints out the magazine and handles the shipping of the single copy.

Combining your FlyingM materials along with your photography journalism would make for a nice promotional package. Hosted as public on the MagCloud directory would give you another avenue for low cost promotion. I would buy a copy just to have some nice prints of your photos.

All the best!

Rick

P.S. Was in the Apple store today and your Snow Leopard book is prominently displayed at eye level in the book vertical. A promotional home run.
