I'm so sorry for your loss Maria. It seems all the more cruel given the relatively short period that you'd known Erik, and yet you'd obviously made such a wonderful connection. It certainly does make us reconsider our own mortality too. I'm glad for the experience you had in getting to know him, and I'm thinking of you at this time.

Sorry to hear this, it sounds like the two of you would have made a great team. I'm sure you will always have a fond remembrance of you many calls.

Thanks very much. I only wish I knew him better and that I'd met him before he got sick.

Maria, I totally agree with you. Eight years ago this Saturday, my dad passed away, suddenly and without any warning. In all the years have come and gone since then, I still am shocked at how suddenly life's rug can be pulled out from underneath you. My world changed that day. The things that we spend nights worrying about seem so inconsequential when you realize how fragile life really is. I totally agree that you should live life now because one day there will be no tomorrow. Again, my sympathies for your loss. He seemed like a good friend that you will miss.
