A few new quotes.

I’m a big fan of short, meaningful quotations. In December, I installed a random quotes feature on this site to display quotes, from a list I maintain in the site’s database, on the Home page’s sidebar.

Slipping the Surly Bonds: Great Quotations on FlightI just added a bunch of quotes from a book I had in my library, “Slipping the Surly Bonds: Great Quotations on Flight” by Dave English. The book is full of aviation quotations from all kinds of sources. Some are funny, some are deep and meaningful, some are just interesting. I spent about a half hour with the book this morning and added about 10 quotes to the site.

One of the quotes I added is an unknown quote that I expanded and modified:

If it takes only two things to fly an airplane — airspeed and money — then it takes only one thing to fly a helicopter: money.

And, on that note, I’d better get back to work.
